Android - an operating system for smartphones, tablets, e-books, digital players, wristwatches, game consoles, netbooks, smartbooks, Google glasses, televisions and other devices.

In 2015, there was support for car entertainment systems and household robots. It is based on the Linux kernel and its own implementation of the Java virtual machine from Google.

Originally developed by Android, Inc., which was then purchased by Google. Subsequently, Google initiated the creation of an alliance Open Handset Alliance (OHA), which is now engaged in the support and further development of the platform.

Android allows you to create Java applications that manage the device through Google's developed libraries. Android Native Development Kit allows you to port libraries and application components written in C and other languages.
