Information and analytical system
Using the accumulated data of the corporate knowledge base, it gives managers and specialists of the enterprise the opportunity to quickly receive summary indicators of activity for operational analysis and planning. The data is collected from various sources.
Based on the received data, the necessary indicators specified by the user are calculated and displayed in a convenient visual form - for example, in the form of diagrams or summary tables.
As far as data analysis is concerned - we follow world standards. In general, all the necessary capabilities are provided by Microsoft technologies. In particular, powerful analytics tools are available in MS SQL Server, which allow you to calculate summary reports and build multidimensional data arrays (OLAP cubes) suitable for long-term storage and processing. Using the familiar MS Excel program, the user receives convenient reports and graphs from them. Thus, systems of the Business intelligence (BI) level are implemented, that is, tools for translating raw information into meaningful, convenient for application in business analysis. In each project - its own specifics and its own BI settings, its own set of reports.
We see our task in setting up the system correctly so that it calculates the necessary indicators. For example, in the IAS for the education system, reports are collected annually from all schools of the Republic of Belarus. Based on the processing of this data at any time, you can make a selection and compare indicators according to different criteria - for example, the academic performance of children from disadvantaged families and the dynamics of this indicator year to year or for several years - etc.
Information and analytical systems are a necessary tool for a modern approach to conducting activities of both a state organization and a private commercial enterprise. IAS creates a clear picture of the company's activities, frees up workers engaged in rough work and strengthens the intellectual potential of management. Ignoring such a tool means giving up your positions in the competitive struggle. If you don't have an IAS yet, perhaps it already exists with your competitor. You should level the positions!
